Riyad Mahrez has returned to training today for the first time since his move to Manchester City broke down apparently.

The BBC reported within the last 30 minutes that they understand that Mahrez has returned to Belvoir for the first time since toddling off, with the 26 year old not training since – although it remains unclear if his time away from the club was sanctioned.

The BBC say that he was set for a return today, but you would think he remains out of contention for Manchester City this weekend and Claude Puel did state that as he met with the media yesterday, however that was before the speculated return – so his availability may now be a possibility.

Having pointed out yesterday – Mahrez Wastes His Chance To Prove A Point – I’mm not sure how welcoming back Mahrez immediately would go over with the group, but if his attitude is now right and his attitude is ‘prove a point’ to both Manchester City and the club itself along with the fans, I’d be up for that.

He’s an employee and if he’s ready to show some remorse, then we all know how capable he is of ‘doing his job’ the only thing I’m struggling with is I think from a disciplinary point of view, any involvement would have to be from the bench.

A line has to be drawn in the summer though, we can’t go through this every single transfer window.
