Late yesterday evening it was being reported that Leicester City had now lodged a firm offer for Hull City centre half Harry Maguire.

The Daily Mail reported that although Hull were holding out for around the £20million mark for the very impressive centre half, Leicester’s offer of around £16.5million is likely to be accepted as they look to rebuild following relegation.

Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United continue to be linked with him, but having identified the 24 year old as a viable option ahead of next campaign, we have stolen a march on them as we can offer far greater game time opportunities – and of course if true, we’ve made an offer.

Having impressed at Sheffield United with over 200 appearances for the Bramall Lane outfit, Maguire earned a £2.5million move to Hull back in the summer of 2014 but having also had a short loan spell out with Wigan Athletic in 2015, he did only make just over 50 appearances for Hull, with 36 of them coming last term following the departure of the man who signed him, Steve Bruce.

With Maguire not signing a new deal this year, his departure has been inevitable and now we have to hope it’s to Leicester.
