Steve Howard insists competition for places is good at Leicester and he has no intention of letting one of the newbies take his place easily.

With only a year left on his contract, Howard made all the right moves with his chance in Sweden, and even though he knows this season will be tough, he’s been pleased with the moves the manager has made in the transfer market and he thinks it’ll be good for the club overall.

‘When you have no one pushing behind you then you can go stale, but when you have someone pushing for your position you have to keep on your toes because if you have a bad game you won’t be playing. There are a lot of new faces coming in and the gaffer has brought quality. We’ll wait and see, I’ll get my head down, like I have throughout my career, and see where I end up.’

Spot on attitude.
