17 year old striker Tom Hopper has become the latest player from the Academy to secure professional terms with the Foxes. The pro deal will keep him at the club until June 2013.

Speaking to lcfc.com Academy Director Jon Rudkin said.

‘Congratulations to Tom in attaining his first professional contract. It’s a reward for his excellent performances and attitude towards his development and we hope it is the first of many.’

Rudkin continues to say that this is Hopper’s foot in the door so to speak, and he now has ‘…to make the most of this opportunity and extend his time with the club by keeping his feet on the ground and pushing towards senior recognition in the future.’

In short, the hard work has now just begun.

Hopper himself will take great encouragement from the progress of Jeff Schlupp who he struck up a partnership with in his first year at the club.
