Ex-Plymouth boss Ian Holloway last night signed a three and a half year deal to become the third Leicester City manager this season.
Holloway, who resigned from Plymouth earlier this week following speculation linking him to the job, was unveiled at The Walkers Stadium alongside chairman Milan Mandaric at 7pm last night.
Holloway signs a deal covering the next 3 1/2 years during which City will hope to climb out of the division and into the Premier League.
Coaching staff Gerry Taggart and Mike Stowell look set to stay in the new setup at Leicester, however there appears to be no room for caretaker manager and previous assistant to Megson, Frank Burrows.
Mandaric seemed relieved following the capture of Holloway, who was also linked prior to the appointment of Rob Kelly last year, saying
‘I am delighted to be able to unveil Ian Holloway as our new manager.
‘It is fair to say that from the start of this process he has been at the forefront of our thoughts and to have finally captured him gives me great joy.
‘It has been a long and tough season to date for everyone connected with this football club but I am confident that I have got the man to take us forward.
‘He has honesty, enthusiasm and drive. He plays a good style of football and I believe he is a manager that my supporters will enjoy and respect.’
‘To have finally captured him gives me great joy. He has honesty, enthusiasm and drive.’
Holloway, renowned for his way with words which has seen him awarded his own column on the BBC Sports website said:
‘I feel like I have been acting in Coronation Street all my life and now I am King Lear,’
‘I just felt I couldn’t turn this down. I can’t wait to get started. This is a whole new challenge which throws me into a whole new ball park.’
Holloway’s first game will be the Championship encounter in his hometown Bristol followed by the home match against Cardiff City, live on Sky on Monday evening.

Holloway will be sacked by the end of the week. Trust me, he is a bald lying b****** that says that he loves a club when really he doesnt and jsut wants to see whether he can get to 20 clubs by the end of his managerial career
