Emile Heskey has sparked a fresh wave of returning rumours after commenting that he’d love to return to Leicester one day.

The current Aston Villa striker hasn’t really hidden his desire to end his career at Leicester, but with the January window approaching and constant talk of ‘cutting cloth’ at the club, you’d imagine Heskey could well move in the New Year.

Speaking to the Leicester Mercury the 33 year old said.

‘Hypothetically, I would love to come back, so never say never – but my current loyalty obviously remains to Villa. I was born and raised in Leicester, my family live there, and it’s the club where everything started for me, I can’t say I will never go back. Who knows where football will take me.’

Heskey was linked regularly under former manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, and until he hangs up his boots the rumours of a return won’t go away.

The big question is, would he be wanted by Pearson now?
