Kings Lynn captain Andy Boyce is a potential target for Leicester City, according to Norfolk News website EDP24.

The 19-year-old centre back was released by Doncaster in the summer, but has impressed so far this season with some eye-catching performances in the Unibond league.

According to the report, City scouts watched Boyce in Kings Lynn’s 5-1 demolition of Matlock at the weekend.

Kings Lynn manager Carl Heggs said: ‘Doncaster let him go in the summer and when I first brought him in he was a bit dopey and I still feel he has plenty to learn. But I think giving him the captaincy has worked wonders and brought him out of his shell’.

Boyce could follow in the footsteps of centre back Michael Morrison, plucked from non-league football at Cambridge United last summer. Morrison enjoyed a successful spell in League One with the Foxes last season, demonstrating that the step up from non-league football can be achieved.
