Leicester manager Nigel Pearson could look to Manchester City left-back Ryan McGivern to bolster his side’s defence, according to The People.

The 19-year-old spent some of last season on loan at League Two side Morecambe, where he impressed in his short spell with the club.

McGivern is a current Northern Ireland under-19 international, where ex-Leicester academy manager Steve Beaglehole now resides. The defender was called up to the Nigel Worthington’s full squad last year, despite not yet making an appearance for Manchester City.

Since then the youngster has gone on to win 6 caps for Northern Ireland, and could now be a summer target for Nigel Pearson’s Foxes on a season long loan.

We were on the brink of signing him on loan in January, he’s very highly thought of at City.

Good to hear. It sounds like he’s done alright for himself in the last year or so…
