Fifa have rejected the Football Association’s appeal to rubber stamp their ridiculous decision to black Adrien Silva’s move to Leicester City from Sporting Lisbon.

The history is known here with the paperwork fully arriving 14 seconds too late after the August 31 extended deadline had expired, and Fifa instantly withheld his International Transfer Certificate which means we haven’t been able to register him to play.

Leicester can now only add him to our playing squad come the January window, whereas he was identified as a replacement for Chelsea bound Danny Drinkwater.

Silva is back in Portugal at the moment to be with his family.
