Sven-Goran Eriksson has said that since the Birmingham game, he has been focusing on getting the team to create and then take chances during a game.

Speaking to lcfc.com Sven reiterated that to pick up points we need to have more of a cutting edge in front of goal and we need to start taking and valuing the chances we create so a game doesn’t slip from our grip.

‘We’ve talked about creating chances and we’re working on it, but the first half performance against Birmingham was very much the same as the first half against Derby, except we didn’t score. We can still play good football, but we have to score with all the good passing we have and the movement around the ball.’

One thing about the Birmingham loss that could work in our advantage, is the fact that we can put it behind us so quickly against Watford.

‘After a defeat on Sunday it’s good that we have the possibility to more or less cancel the Birmingham game – it’s always good to play quickly after a defeat.’
