Leicester manager Sven-Goran Eriksson could be set to free Habib Beye from his Aston Villa hell, according to Talk Sport.

Beye looks increasingly likely to leave the club in the January transfer window after just three Premier League appearances this season.

According to reports the full-back has recently been involved in a furious training ground row with Gerard Houllier, an event which looks to have hammered the final nail in his Aston Villa career.

Beye enjoyed a successful time in the Premier League with Newcastle just two seasons ago, and would be somewhat of a coup for Eriksson and his ambitious Leicester side.

There is unlikely to be a shortage of interest in the 33-year-old, however, meaning City have a fight on their hands if they are to step up interest in the Senegalese defender.

He has been ok for villa when he has played. Luke Young and Eric Lichaj are better though. I think he would still be a top Championship player
