Sven-Goran Eriksson has said he was disappointed to see Rangers go public about the £6.5m bid for Nikica Jelavic.

Speaking to the Leicester Mercury Sven said.

‘It might be true that we made a bid but we don’t understand why they went public. It’s an invitation for clubs to tell other clubs what is going on.’

Speaking for generally about deadline day he added.

‘It is good that people are interested in us, it has also been great fun. I should have counted how many agents have phoned me, the figure would be an interesting one. I have had three or four agents phoning about the same player, so you wonder who is representing them.’
