Cox Interest Withdrawn?

Leicester have withdrawn their interest for Swindon Town striker Simon Cox according to Sky Sports News.

After appearing as though the 22-year-old was on the verge of joining Nigel Pearson’s Foxes, it now seems as though Leicester have withdrawn their interest after it is understood that Swindon wanted a fee of around £2.5m for the player.

Cox was the highlight of an otherwise disappointing season for Swindon in League One last season, as he found the net 32 times last season in all competitions.

The news will disappoint many Leicester fans, who hoped that Cox would provide Matty Fryatt with some much-needed competition up front.

Whether or not Cox will remain at the County Ground this summer remains to be seen, but with one club already put off by his price-tag, don’t be surprised to see him remain in a Swindon shirt next season.
