Concern over Wesolowski

Anxious Leicester City fans are desperate for information that midfield starlet James Wesolowski has not broken his leg once again.

Wesolowski was carried off in the second half of City’s Championship League win at Brighton and caretaker manager Rob Kelly was distinctly cagey afterwards saying that ‘He caught his foot in the ground and there is some swelling. I don’t think he will available for Tuesday (when City play Derby).’

It didn’t look good from the terraces. Wesolowski received attention and tried to continue but then seemed to collapse immediately he tried to put weight on the leg.’

There was also a post on fans website Talking Balls from Martyn this morning who had a message from his father to say that ‘a mate of his on the coach travelling back from the game said Wesolowski had texted someone (a name was given) saying he reckons he may have broken his leg again’.

If so it will be a desperate blow both for Australian youth international and for his club.

Wesolowski’s appearance as a regular in the team has coincided with an unprecedented run of success for City this season of three successive League victories which have helped them move clear of the relegation places.

He first suffered a broken leg in a tackle with Balde while playing in a pre-season friendly against Celtic. Now fans are quietly hoping that he hasn’t suffered a repeat.

It’s official then, he has broken his leg again. What a blow for the lad. I look forward to seeing him back in action next season.
