Former Leicester City and Manchester United defender Colin Gibson tonight joined the race to be Leicester City’s new manager.

The 45-year-old who made over 60 appearances for Leicester between 1990 and 1994 said on Radio Leicester ‘there are only a few clubs that I am passionate about and Leicetser City is one of them.’

‘I have nothing to lose. I love watching the game and I love the club.’

Gibson played most of his football at Manchester United and Aston Villa amassing over 400 appearances in his first class career.

Gibson explained that he had no managerial experience, but added that he did know a lot of people in the game and believed he was well placed to do a good job.

He warned that Leicester might not find it easy to find anyone presently in a job who would be willing to risk their careers with City in such a precarious position.’
