After impressing Nigel Pearson during his recent trial veteran Chris Powell has signed a short-term contract.

The former England international was put through a gruelling assessment but more than proved his fitness and City gaffer Pearson is very happy to have the fullback, who was released by Charlton at the end of last season.

Powell has signed a six-month contract.

  • Chris Powell is in the “veteran” stage of career so I think a six month contract is the right length.
