Captain Encourages A Foxy Future For Naughton

Andy King has said that he believes Kyle Naughton should be looking for a career at Leicester City.

After impressing whilst on loan, our Young Player of the Season has now returned to Spurs and Sven-Goran Eriksson has already made it clear that he’d be interested in taking the fullback on a permanent deal as long as spurs didn’t overprice him, but King thinks that Kyle should bite the bullet and look for regular football with us.

‘Kyle will look back at the season and see it’s been good for him and maybe he can build his future at this club. That’s part and parcel of the game, very few players go through a season playing all the games.’

King realises the quote also serves the purpose of warning current players that there may be more rotation next season, and that everybody will have to be on their toes to ensure they remain in the team.

‘I think we’ll cope with the expectation, there may be rotation but if it’s done right, everybody will be happy.’

I have a feeling that Spurs will have Kyle back for Pre season and see how he shapes up, before deciding whether to keep him, or more likely loan or sell him next season. I expect to see Alan Hutton sold and I dont think that Vedran Corluka is really Harry’s ideal RB, so I think that we will see Kyle Walker return and perhaps Naughton or a more experienced full back come in as competition

With how well he did here I can see the sense of you having him back to run your eye over him again properly, but if you’re expecting that many departures – and given his form at Villa, Walker to take the spot – I’d think we’d stand a good chance of getting him back on loan. Permanent would be better, but a loan is better than nothing.
