Reports at the weekend suggested that manager Claudio Ranieri has turned his attentions to Burnley centre half Michael Keane.

The 23 year old defender was a key component in their promotion from the Championship last season as title winners, and some reports were carrying suggestions that having identified Keane as good competition for the upcoming Premier League and Champions League battles, an offer of £10million has already gone in to try and force Burnley’s hands.

The Leicester Mercury cover the story, and whilst they confirm they believe that Keane is on Ranieri’s shortlist for summer business, they don’t believe our interest has yet been firmed up with a straight offer.

With it also being reported that we are close now to completing the signing of Sporting Gijon defender Luis Hernandez as a free agent, any interest in Keane would leave us more than covered defensively alongside Wes Morgan, Robert Huth, and Marcin Wasilewski especially.
