Joe Hamill was closest to a first half equaliser for City with a shot which hit the crossbar and Louis Dodds spooned an excellent second half opportunity over with the goal gaping.

Otherwise Leicester never had anyone to match the class of the Premier Reserve League South’s top scorer, 19-goal Bernard, who had a fierce bending shot blocked and skied another effort over from five yards in the closing minutes to emphasise his ever-dangerous presence.
