Although once distancing themselves from the move, Leicester City today completed the month-long loan signing of experienced Plymouth Argyle defender Rufus Brevett.

After joining on a free transfer from West Ham, the 36-year-old Derby born left-back featured in 13 Championship matches for the Pilgrims this season.

During that time he collected four yellow cards and was on the winning side three times, with three of the games drawn.

His last first team appearance was on October 18 in a 1-1 draw against QPR.

Brevett’s halcyon years were with QPR from 1991-1998 and Fulham from 1998-2003, when he clocked up a total of 360 first team appearances.

Ironically it will be the second time this season that Leicester have turned to Plymouth for a left-back following Craig Levein’s ill-fated signing of Peter Gilbert who quickly moved onto Sheffield Wednesday after little more than a token contribution at City.
