Some good headlines today in media today surrounding England international Fox Jamie Vardy – and his stalled move to Arsenal.

I won’t overly go through the background here – a release clause of apparently £20million met by Arsenal and despite wanting an answer before he headed to France with England for the European Championships, that answer hasn’t been forthcoming.

With the media, and Leicester Mercury reporting that Vardy has been fully focused on the England challenges ahead and not being swayed by the media frenzy surrounding him, it’s also being said that sources within the England camp are suggesting that the 29 year old has intimated to international colleagues that he feels 80% sure he may well reject Arsenal and stay at the King Power.

In response to the Arsenal bid and them having permission to speak to him to offer a reported £25million four year contract, Leicester themselves are said to have put a new deal on the table as well – but I can see no suggested uplift when it comes to that contractually – but suffice to say if it doesn’t match Arsenal’s offer, it won’t be far off you wouldn’t have thought.

Whilst press reports intimate the 80% surety of a stay, there’s an underlying suggestion that the reason Vardy has held off making a decision so far is because he wants the Euros out of the way so he can fully concentrate on the decision to be made – and that people shouldn’t be reading into the fact he’s delaying the decision.

The Evening Standard carry the suggestion England colleagues have revealed the 80% stay element, but of course there are no direct or attributable quotes doing the rounds here.

So basically – I think everybody other than Vardy knows the same as me – very little.
