Winger Marc Albrighton has said that Leicester City gave everything in the loss to Liverpool at the weekend.

Having taken a midweek EFL Cup victory over Jurgen Klopp’s side, Liverpool got their revenge at the King Power Stadium taking a three two victory, but had Jamie Vardy buried his penalty it could’ve all gone differently.

Speaking to lcfc.com to look back on the game as he met with the media, Albrighton knew Leicester had given their all on the day and despite the disappointment of suffering the loss, he felt there were plenty of positives we could take from the showing – especially as we fought back from two nil down.

‘It`s very disappointing. We left ourselves with a mountain to climb after conceding a third goal. A goal just before half-time set us up nicely to come out and have a right go at them, but I think we probably chucked too much forward early on and they broke on us and we conceded a sloppy goal.’

Albrighton went on to say.

‘When you`re 3-1 down, it`s always hard to get back in the game. We had a good go, but it wasn`t enough. We chucked everything at them in different stages of the game but it`s when you want them second balls to fall your way and they don`t. They broke on us, scored and all of a sudden you`ve got a two-goal deficit to haul back and it`s difficult.’

With Shinji Okazaki finding the net for the second time in five days, Albrighton felt we could take confidence from the way goals are being shared around slightly at the moment.

‘Shinji seems to pop up when you want him to and when he needs to. With his attitude and work rate, he`s always going to create chances for himself and create chances for the team. It`s always good when your strikers are scoring. We`ve got some great attacking players here and obviously we want them to get on the scoresheet as much as possible.’
