A Fine Pair

Once again tonight Leicester fans have seen two strikers that have linked up well together and created chances and goals for one another.

The surprise for many City fans that haven`t managed to make any pre season games is that it`s the Chris O`Grady and Elvis Hammond partnership, not the Ian Hume/Matty Fryatt partnership which is looking the most dangerous.

Although some fans might argue that the pre season games have only been against lower league opposition, Hume and Fryatt have had a similar amount of time on the pitch and have failed to show even a hint of the form they showed together last season.

As a previous article on Vital Leicester pointed out (Click Here) the O`Grady/Hammond partnership has been far the most potent in pre season and the two strikers produced another good performance against Lincoln in the second half, with each player setting up the other for a goal.

Even though towards the end of last season Fryatt and Hume looked one of the most dangerous partnerships in the Championship. Hammond and O`Grady have performed well in all the pre season games.

This is leaving Rob Kelly with a very tricky situation to deal with when picking the strikers for the first game of the season, against Luton. If he were to leave out Hammond and O`Grady, he would be telling them that no matter how well they played, Fryatt and Hume will always be first choice.

With only one more significant friendly at home against Real Sociedad this Friday. Rob Kelly must be hoping that Fryatt and Hume show some kind of form or else he will have no other option but to start Hammond and O`Grady
